The original Chimera #3 Beleaf cut of Chimera we started with produced large frost covered covered nugs that foxtailed. Some claim that Chimera #3 was specifically chosen for its ability to foxtail because it offer more surface area for trichomes to form, whether or not that is true, Chimera #3 does not dissapoint when it comes to trichome coverage. This plant is covered in trichomes which extend over to some of the leaves. She certainly offers much more trichome coverage than most strains but where Chimera #3 really shines is in the terpene department. She has a very loud smell that is similiar to a citrusy wine. The ever so sweet smell is so intense that she will outshine everything growing near or around her. The taste itself is different than the super sweet wine smell that can be noticed for a city block, the taste is earthy but with a slight fruit taste. The yield was high due to the very dense flowers that will require a grider to fully break down. The plant itself stretched to nearly 3x its size during the bloom stage which is great for SCROG growers. She produced small golf ball size, fox tailed nugs that were coved in trichomes, despite their small size the density was enough to pull branches down, so a trellis net is recommended. She grew well outdoors as well but in both sceneraios she required an optimal environment to thrive, and we noticed that she produced differently depending on environment but all were top shelf flower.
What to expect;
Chimera #3 S1 seeds produced several phenotypes. Some were similiar to the parents of Chimera #3 and some were similar to Chimera #3 itself. Atleast half of the plants we tested turned purple during the flowering stage and the rest were varying shades of green but all plants were very trichome covered just like Chimera #3. Despite the number of phenotypes we encountered, they all produced an abundance of trichomes and they all smelled and tasted similar. All of the offspring exibited the same growth characteristics as Chimera #3, so expect a 3x stretch during the transition to bloom. A trellis net or similar plant assistance will be required due to the small but very heavy flowers that will certainly pull the thin branches down during the late stages of flower.
